Anthos Project.  From the Real Jardín Botánico, Madrid.  Contains a vast amount of information of the flora of Spain, including photos, distribution maps, nomenclature, etc.

Botanical Image Database. University of Basel, Switzerland. Over 4000 photographs of pollinators, vegetation, woody plants, Tenerife (Canary Islands), Samos (Greece), and Basel (Switzerland).

Botanical Society of America Online Image Collection. Has several categories, including Angiosperm embryogenesis, Lower Vascular Plants, Organography, Economic Botany, Paleobotany, Plant Geography, Plant Morphology, Plant Anatomy, Carnivorous Plants, and more.

Botanique Systématique des Plantes à Fleurs.  A selection of families from the CD that accompanies the book (of the same name) by R. E. Spichiger, V. V. Savolainen, M. Figeat and D. Jeanmonod.  From the Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de la Ville de Genève.

Botanique.org. By Laurent Bray, this site has photo galleries as well as general botany topics such as cytology, stem and root anatomy, reproductive systems in angiosperms, biodiversity, classfication, and plant pictures and botanical drawings. Can be viewed in French or English.

BotIT - University of Wisconsin, Dept. Botany. Thousands of images arranged into four major categories: General Botany, Trees, Plant Diversity, and Tom Folk's Fungi Collection.

Regional and Geographically-based Collections

Africa

Aluka, African Plants.  Aluka is a not-for-profit international collaboration of educational and cultural institutions. Its mission is to build a high-quality scholarly resource of materials from and about Africa. Many photos, including herbarium specimens.  Powerful search engine. Unfortunately, a fee is required for full access.

Fernkloof Nature Reserve.  FNR covers 1800 ha in the Kleinrivier Mountains above Hermanus and ranges in altitude from sea level to 842 m. In late 1957, the Reserve was proclaimed by the Provincial Council of the Cape. It protects coastal and fynbos and a small patch of evergreen forest. 1474 species have been recorded from this Reserve.

Flora of East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia). Website maintained by Serge Aubert, University of Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France. Also associated with the Lautaret Alpine Botanical Garden which focuses on alpine plants.

Flora of Zimbabwe. A joint venture between Bart Wursten of Ndundu Lodge in the Vumba and Mark Hyde. Database contains information and photos of over 1000 species.
