COURSE DESRIPTION

410-4 Ecology of Bryophytes. A field-based focus on learning identification of the local flora. Interactions
of bryophytes to their environment are examined through lectures, laboratories, and field study. Importance
of mosses and liverworts to ecosystems, community analysis, and population interactions are emphasized.
Two lecture/laboratory/field trips per week. Lab fee: $15. Prerequisite: a 300 level course in plant biology or
permission of the instructor.
